Detailed Itinerary for Classic Bhutan Honeymoon Tour
Day 1: Paro Arrival – Phuentsholing Congratulations on your marriage! Your Bhutan honeymoon begins with arrival at Paro International Airport, where our guide will meet you. Transfer to Phuentsholing, Bhutan’s gateway city, enjoying a scenic drive through tea gardens and the lush forests of the Dooars. Overnight in Phuentsholing.
Day 2: Phuentsholing – Thimphu After breakfast, travel to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax after the journey. Later, enjoy a delightful dinner. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 3: Thimphu Sightseeing Start your day with a delicious breakfast before exploring Thimphu’s cultural and natural treasures. Visit the Motithang Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin. Explore Tashichho Dzong, the seat of government, and capture panoramic views of Thimphu from the BBS Tower. Visit Kuensel Phodrang Nature Park, home to the grand Buddha Dordenma statue, and the Folk Heritage Museum, showcasing traditional Bhutanese life. Conclude the day with a scrumptious dinner. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 4: Thimphu – Punakha via Dochu La Pass After breakfast, depart Thimphu for Punakha. En route, stop at the Dochu La Pass for breathtaking views of the Himalayas and the 108 Buddhist shrines. Visit Punakha Dzong, a historic fortress and former seat of government. Also, explore Chimi Lhakhang, known for its fertility blessings. Enjoy dinner and rest at your hotel. Overnight in Punakha.
Day 5: Punakha – Paro Sightseeing After a hearty breakfast, travel to Paro. Discover the peaceful Paro Valley and visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. Explore the National Museum of Bhutan at Ta Dzong and the archaeological site of Drukgyel Dzong. Hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, perched on a cliffside. Overnight in Paro.
Day 6: Paro – Phuentsholing After breakfast, drive back to Phuentsholing, a journey of approximately 7 hours. Spend the evening exploring the beautiful city at your leisure. Overnight in Phuentsholing.
Day 7: Phuentsholing – NJP/Siliguri/Bagdogra Airport Enjoy your morning at leisure before your transfer to the airport for your departure flight. We hope you had a wonderful time on your 7-day Bhutan honeymoon tour.
