Jomolhari Trek Cost / Price: The costs mentioned below include the sustainable development fee (SDF) of US $ 100 per person per night and Bhutan visa fee US $ 40 per person. Entrance fees for monuments and festivals visits are to be paid separately.

Detailed Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival at Paro and sightseeing | Altitude: 2280 m. Your guide and driver will greet you at Paro International Airport and transfer you to the hotel.
In the afternoon, explore Ta Dzong (National Museum of Bhutan) and Rinpung Dzong, a fortress built in 1644 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.
Enjoy an evening stroll in the town.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 02: Paro – Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang) | 7 Km | Hike: 2 hours. Embark on a morning hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, a 2-hour trek from the base of the hill.
In the afternoon, visit Drugyal Dzong, a defense fortress built in 1649, and Kichu Monastery, the oldest temple in Bhutan built in 659 AD.
Experience an evening at a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Paro – Shana – Thang Thanka (Start of Jomolhari Trek in Bhutan): Drive to Shana in the morning to begin the trek to Thang Thanka, the starting point of the Jomolhari Trek in Bhutan.
Dinner and overnight camping at the stone shelter.
Altitude: 3610 m; Distance: 22 Km; Duration: 7 – 8 hours. (Ascent: 770 m, Descent: 10 m). Jomolhari Trek Difficulty: Strenuous.
Day 04: Thang Thangka – Jangothang: Today’s trek passes through Tegethang, a winter yak herder’s camp, before reaching Jangothang base camp. Nearby, you’ll find the ruins of an ancient dzong that once protected Bhutan against Tibetan forces.
Dinner and overnight camping.
Altitude: 4080 m; Distance: 19 Km; Duration: 5 – 6 hours. (Ascent: 480 m). Jomolhari Trek Difficulty Level: Strenuous.
Day 05. Jangothang Rest Day – Jomolhari Trek in Bhutan (Acclimatization): Today, you have three options for day hikes from Jangothang:

Day 06. Jangothang – Lingshi: Today, enjoy breathtaking views of Jichu Drake, Jomolhari, and Tsherim Gang. Then, climb to Nyele La Pass at an altitude of 4,700 m before descending to Lingshi. You can also admire the beautiful view of Lingshi Dzong.
Dinner and overnight at the camp (Altitude: 4010 m).
Distance: 18 km, hiking time: 6-7 hours, ascent: 840 m, descent: 870 m, Jomolhari Trek difficulty level: Strenuous.
Day 07. Lingshi – Shodu: Today, we ascend Yalila Pass (4930 m), offering the best views of Tserim Gang, Mount Jomolhari, and Masagang on clear days.
Dinner and overnight at the camp in Shodu (Altitude: 4080 m).
Distance: 22 km, hiking time: 8-9 hours, ascent: 940 m, descent: 920 m, Jomolhari Trek difficulty level: Strenuous.
Day 08. Shodu – Barshong: The trail follows the Thimphu River, descending through rhododendron, juniper, and other alpine forests.
In the afternoon, the trail gradually ascends to the ruins of Barshong Dzong before reaching the camp.
Dinner and overnight at the camp (Altitude: 3710 m).
Distance: 16 km, walking time: 5-6 hours, ascent: 250 m, descent: 670 m.
Day 09. Barshong – Thimphu: The trail descends downhill through alpine forest, rejoining the Thimphu River for a while.
Your vehicle will pick you up and drive you to Thimphu.
Distance: 4 km, walking time: 2 hours, ascent: 290 m, descent: 640 m.
Day 10. Thimphu sightseeing – Paro: Today, explore Thimphu, including a visit to a hand-made paper factory and the weekend market. You can also witness an archery match.
In the evening, drive to Paro (54 km, 1-hour drive).
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 11. Paro – Departure: After breakfast, drive to the airport for your departure.
