Tour Cost for Honeymoon in Bhutan

The cost below includes the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of US $100 per person per night and a Bhutan visa fee of US $40 per person. Entrance fees for monuments and festival visits are paid separately. Prices are based on government-approved “Clean & Certified” 3-star hotels, with additional charges for 4-star and 5-star hotels.

Honeymoon Tour in Bhutan 10 Days Itinerary (Detailed)

Day 1: Arrive in Paro and Sightseeing
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport (2,280m), you will be greeted by your guide and taken to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Ta Dzong, the national museum of Bhutan, and Rinpung Dzong, a prime example of Bhutanese architecture built in 1646. In the evening, explore the town for shopping and photography. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Paro – Hike to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang) – Thimphu
Distance: 54 km | Drive: 1 hour | Hike: 4 hours | Altitude: 2,334 m
Begin the day with a hike to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang), one of Bhutan’s most sacred sites. Enjoy breathtaking views and take breaks for photos. After the hike, drive to Thimphu and check into your hotel. Dinner and overnight in Thimphu.

Day 3: Thimphu Sightseeing
Altitude: 2,334 m
Start the day by visiting the postal museum, where you can print your pictures on official Bhutanese stamps. Then, explore the textile museum and the school of 13 arts and crafts. Have lunch at Simply Bhutan, enjoying traditional dishes, local wine, and folk dances. In the afternoon, visit the Buddha Dordenma statue, the Memorial Chorten, and the craft bazaar. End the day with a visit to Tashichho Dzong, housing the throne room and offices of the King. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Thimphu Sightseeing – Punakha
Distance: 76 km | Drive: 2 hours | Altitude: 1,242 m
Visit the Changangkha Temple, Takin Preserve Center, Sangaygang viewpoint, and Dupthop Nunnery in the morning. After lunch, drive to Punakha, stopping at the Dochula Pass (3,140m) for panoramic views. Hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the Temple of Fertility, built in honor of Drukpa Kuenley, also known as the Divine Madman. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Punakha.

Day 5: Punakha Sightseeing
Walk across the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan (160 meters) and enjoy views of Punakha valley. Visit Punakha Dzong, built in 1637, and hike to Khamsung Yulley Monastery, constructed by Her Majesty the Queen. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Punakha.

Day 6: Punakha – Wangdue Phodrang – Gangtey
Distance: 75 km | Drive: 2 hours | Altitude: 3,000 m
Drive to Gangtey, passing through scenic landscapes. Check into your hotel and relax. Enjoy the serene environment and picturesque views. Dinner and overnight in Gangtey.

Day 7: Gangtey – Trongsa Sightseeing – Bumthang
Distance: 185 km | Drive: 5 hours | Altitude: 2,600 m
Travel to Bumthang, considered the spiritual heartland of Bhutan. Visit Trongsa Dzong, the largest fortress in Bhutan, and Ta Dzong, now a royal heritage museum. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Bumthang.

Day 8: Bumthang Sightseeing
Explore Bumthang, known for its rich culture and spiritual significance. Visit ancient temples and monasteries, and enjoy the scenic beauty of the valley. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Bumthang.

Day 9: Bumthang – Paro Sightseeing (by Mountain Flight)
Flight duration: 25 minutes | Altitude: 2,280 m
Fly to Paro and spend the afternoon visiting the Cheli La Pass (3,988m), the highest motorable road in Bhutan. Hike to the sky burial site and visit the Kila Gompa nunnery. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Paro.

Day 10: Paro – Departure
