Detailed Itinerary for 6 Days Bhutan Tour

Day 1: Arrive Paro – Thimphu Sightseeing (54 km, 1-hour drive) Upon arrival at Paro airport, your guide and driver will greet you and transport you to Thimphu. Along the way, enjoy a brief stop at Tamchog Monastery. In Thimphu, visit the Memorial Chorten and the towering Buddha Dordenma statue.

In the afternoon, explore Changangkha Lhakhang, the Takin Preserve Center, and the Dupthop Nunnery.

Evening free for shopping and photography around town.

Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing Begin with visits to the National Postal Museum, the Craft Bazaar, the Textile Museum, and the School of 13 Arts and Crafts.

After lunch, explore the Simply Bhutan Museum and watch an archery match at Changlimithang Stadium.

In the evening, visit the Tashichho Dzong, the royal secretariat.

Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha Sightseeing (76 km, 2-hour drive) Morning drive to the scenic Punakha Valley, the ancient capital of Bhutan. En route, stop at the picturesque Dochu La Pass (3140 m). Visit Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility, built in honor of Drukpa Kuenley, the divine madman of Bhutan.

In the afternoon, tour the magnificent Punakha Dzong, constructed in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

Evening hike to the serene Khamsum Yulley Monastery, followed by a walk across the 160-meter-long suspension bridge over the Pho Chu River.

Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 4: Punakha – Wangdue Phodrang – Paro Sightseeing (151 km, 4-hour drive) Drive to Paro, with a stop at Wangdue Phodrang to view the dzong.

In the afternoon, visit the National Museum of Bhutan (Ta Dzong), Rinpung Dzong, and a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse.

Day 5: Paro Sightseeing – Hike to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery In the morning, drive to Satsam Chorten and embark on a 2-hour hike to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang).

In the afternoon, visit Drugyel Dzong (the fortress of the victorious Bhutanese) and Kichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest monasteries, built in 659 AD by King Srongtsen Gampo.

Evening free to stroll around Paro town.

Day 6: Paro – Departure After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure.
