5 Days Bhutan Tour

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive Paro – Thimphu sightseeing (54 km, 1-hour drive): Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, your guide and driver will greet you and drive you to Thimphu. On the way, you’ll stop briefly to view Tamchog Monastery.

Afternoon:

• Visit the Memorial Chorten
• See the tallest statue of Buddha
• Explore Changangkha Lhakhang
• Enjoy the view from Sangaygang viewpoint
• Visit Dupthop Nunnery

Evening:

• Visit Tashichho Dzong (the royal secretariat)

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Thimphu – Punakha sightseeing – Thimphu (76 km, 2-hour drive): Morning:

• Drive to the scenic Punakha Valley
• Stop at Dochu La Pass (Altitude 3140 m)
• Visit Chimi Lhakhang, the Temple of Fertility, built in honor of Drukpa Kuenley, the “Divine Madman of Bhutan”

Afternoon:

• Tour Punakha Dzong, built in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. Punakha served as the ancient capital of Bhutan until the reign of the second king.

Evening:

• Return drive to Thimphu

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Thimphu – Paro sightseeing (54 km, 1-hour drive): Morning:

• Visit the National Postal Museum

• Explore the Painting School (School of 13 Arts and Crafts)

• Browse the Craft Bazaar

• Free time for shopping and photography

• Drive to Paro

Afternoon:

• Visit Ta Dzong (the National Museum)
• Tour Rinpung Dzong
• Experience a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse

Evening:

• Free time for shopping and photography

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4: Paro sightseeing – Hike to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery: Morning:

• Hike to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang). It is a 2-hour uphill walk to the monastery, the highlight of the 5-day Bhutan tour.

Afternoon:

• Visit Drugyel Dzong (the Fortress of Victory)
• Explore Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan, built in 659 AD

Evening:

• Free time for shopping and photography

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5: Paro – Departure: After breakfast, drive to the airport for your departure.
